St Johann in the Pongau lies in the middle of the Salzburg country and is therefore a well known starting point for many sights, excursions, hikings and snow experiences. St. Johann Alpendorf lies approx. 3 km from the city center and offers numerous cabins and ski lifts into the largest skiing area of Austria: ski Amadé. 

St Johann lies 60 km south of Salzburg City.

Liechtenstein gorge:
One of the most beautiful ravines and the most tremendous displays of nature in the Alpine world. Easily accessible bridges, steps and tunnels, and at the end of the gorge, a 50m high waterfall.
